How to cook Vegetable Spread - Vegetable Spread


Vegetable Spread
1 table spoon plain gelatine
1/4 cup cold water
1 cup hellman's mayonnaise
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 large tomato, chopped
1/2 cup finely chopped celery
1 small onion, chopped fine
1 large carrot , grated
1/2 cucumber, chopped and drained
1/2 bell pepper, chopped and drained



DIssolved gelatin in cold water; add hot water and coo. Mix with mayonnaise and salt. Add vegetables. Refrigerate overnight. Makes 4 cups. To double recipe, drain all vegetable on paper towels and still use only one envelop of gelatin, 1/4 cup cold water and 1/4 cup boiling water. Spread on rounds of bread for party sandwiches and garnish with a tiny sprig of parsley or serve as mold with cackers or stuff in a juicy red summer tomato as salad.
